Infant Toddler Program

The Infant Toddler Program is designed for babies and children under two years of age.  We have 5 classrooms with 9 children and 3 teachers in each classroom resulting in a ratio of 1:3.  We strongly believe in family grouping, having infants and toddlers together.  Our mixed age setting provides the consistency that young children need along with the ability to build a sense of trust and security with their caregivers and peers.  The Infant Toddler Program follows a primary care-giving philosophy and is based on the Parents as Teachers and Active Learning Curriculums.

Two Year Old Program

The Two Year Old Program is an exciting time of independence and exploration of the environment.  This program consists of two classrooms.  There are 16 children in each room with 3 teachers giving the classrooms a ratio of 1:5.  Our emphasis in these classrooms is on social and emotional development.  The teachers foster a nurturing environment by encouraging independence and building on each child’s self esteem.  The Two Year Old Program is based on the Parents as Teachers and Project Construct Curriculums.

Preschool Program

The Preschool Program has four mixed-age classrooms.  Children range in age from 3 to 6 years old.  Each classroom has 3 teachers; a 1:10 ratio is always maintained, but the ratio is typically 1:7 or 1:8.  Each team of teachers works to create a sense of community, and to guide and support developing skills.  Our emphasis in these classrooms is on social and emotional development.  Project Construct is the basis of our Preschool curriculum.  Children actively construct their own knowledge through “hands on, minds on” learning experiences.

Tibbit Program

To support the transition from child care to Kindergarten, we provide a special summer program for our oldest children who will leave in the fall to start “big school”.  The Tibbit Program focuses primarily on Kindergarten readiness skills and is a traditional right of passage at the Center!
