Preschool Program
The Preschool Program consists of four mixed-age classrooms. Children range in age from 3 to 6 years of age. Mixed age classrooms allow children to remain with their primary caregiver and peers for a longer period of time, creating a sense of community and stability. Mixed age classrooms also promote leadership skills, motivation to learn, and increased problem solving skills. Each of our preschool classrooms has 3 full time teachers and 1 shared part time teacher. We strive to provide an adult/child ratio of 1:7 at all times, however a minimum adult/child state licensing ratio of 1:10 will always be maintained.
The emphasis of the Preschool Program is on social emotional development, creating opportunities for acceptance, self-regulation, cooperation, and problem solving. With Project Construct as the basis of our preschool curriculum, children actively build their knowledge with hands-on, minds-on activities. Children learn math, science, literacy, art, and social concepts through directly interacting and engaging with their environment. Teachers develop activities, experiments, and cooking projects, as well as sensory, music, and large and fine motor opportunities to meet the developmental needs of each individual child.
